Start by Confirming Your Pregnancy

A positive home test can feel like a lot to process, but it is just the beginning of what you need to know.

At Pregnancy Options Center of Warren County, clients who receive a positive pregnancy test result at our center may qualify for a free, confidential limited ultrasound, available up to 14 weeks of gestation. Performed by trained nurses, this ultrasound helps confirm key details about your pregnancy so you can move forward with accurate information. We encourage all clients to also follow up with a medical provider for comprehensive care.

Your Education Is Protected: Know Your Rights

One of the biggest concerns for pregnant high school students is losing their place in school. You may worry about how teachers or administrators will respond, whether you can still participate in activities, or if graduation is even possible.

Here is what you need to know: Title IX  protects you.

Title IX is a federal law that prohibits schools from discriminating against students on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions.

Under Title IX, your school cannot push you out of classes, remove you from extracurriculars, or treat you differently from other students. You also have the right to request reasonable accommodations, such as excused absences for prenatal appointments or additional time for assignments, so that you can stay on track academically.

Your future is still yours. A pregnancy does not end your education, and the law is on your side.

You Do Not Have to Tell Everyone Right Away

Deciding who to tell and when is entirely up to you. Some students tell a parent or trusted adult right away. Others need time before they are ready to share the news. There is no required timeline for talking with family, friends, or a partner.

What is most important is that you have at least one safe person or place to turn to. Whether that is a family member, a school counselor, a trusted mentor, or a resource center like ours, having support around you makes a real difference as you work through this.

Getting to Know Your Options

You have three pregnancy options: parenting, adoption, and abortion. Each one looks different for every person, and each comes with its own set of questions, considerations, and resources. You deserve honest, complete information about all of them, without pressure in any direction.

Our advocates at Pregnancy Options Center of Warren County are here to talk through each option with you at your own pace. We will not push you toward any particular decision. Our role is to give you the information and space you need to make the choice that is right for your life.

What to Expect When You Visit
